How to make a beautiful mat of plaits

Beautiful mat of plaits:

Materials and tools.

Scissors are sharp. (If there are a roller knife and mat – will save time and nerves).
Threads are strong – I take with a dolphin, a needle, a thimble.
Any junk, it is desirable, more Jersey – ladies’ and children’s tights, an old favorite T-shirt (ki), which the hand does not rise to throw away – beloved! And only in the beds behind the high fence you can … Smash! Cracked completely! It is impossible and behind a fence!
You can use not too thick sweaters, as well as shirts, trousers (jeans do not recommend), unnecessary fabrics. Etc.

I assure you if you are enthusiastic about this business, and you have not accumulated tights, you will not have enough of your own – shake your girlfriends!

We cut T-shirts and fabrics into strips.

Women’s tights in half, regardless of the density, cut the elastic and sock. Well, if the tights are very thick, woolen, for example, or children’s – dense, bright, then from one “pant leg” two strips. T-shirts cut into strips about 6-8 cm wide. If the fabric is thick – then thinner.

Next, I, for speeding up the process, stitching on a machine strip length of one and a half to two meters, all very roughly, you know! I leave the length of the strip, which I can easily weave and wind it in the hands, fix it, or slip the loop under the last winding – in the photo it can be seen, it is possible with an English pin. Next, we take three bands, it’s better if at least two of them are knitted. In order not to stick out the sections and thread four times, cut inwards.

We fix with the needle thread the beginning of the spit and the plait, the plait … When the strip ends, here we already sew the next thread with a needle thread.

If you need to distract yourself, go at last !!! Prepare dinner for the family, I take it with a regular pin so that the braid does not disintegrate.

Rugs can be made round and oval. You can and other forms if you want.

Well, the last technological moment that I developed for myself. I’m right-handed, so when I start sewing braids – just over the edge, and quite thickly – the hard mat turns out – I put the scythe counter-clockwise. Tried the opposite, but there is more risk to draw and get a bubble in the middle of the carpet – it will be difficult to “trample” then. And with such a stacking risk is much less to draw, so if there is a bubble, then everything will settle down during operation.

Left-handed, probably, it is necessary to do the opposite. Try it!

That’s what can happen if you have enough patience …

Hope you like this mat of plaits.

DIY: How to make Movie Clapper

This tutorial shows how to make a movie clapper from scratch. It was used for a special events and it was really simple to make (even if it took a while to get to the finished). Made from wood and chalkboard paint.

Required Material:

  • 30x25cm / 11.8×9.8inch piece of wood
  • 5x25cm / 2×9.8inch piece of wood
  • Hand saw
  • 2 brass plates to make the hinge
  • Electric drill
  • Bolts and nuts
  • Black chalkboard paint
  • White paint
  • Sandpaper, paintbrushes, masking tape

First, saw a triangle on the top left of the bigger piece of wood. If you don’t do this, it won’t move.

Then, mark the places that you’ll need to open holes.

Drill all the holes and paint everything with the black chalkboard paint. I used three coats to make it extra strong and pretty.

When it’s completely dry, take care of the hinge, using the nuts and bolts. I chose to paint the hinge black, thought it looked better.

Now it’s time to mark the places to paint white. Draw a line 5cm from the top of the main part. On that line, draw small marks spaced 3cm apart. Do the same thing on the top part of the clapper. Draw diagonal lines, making the pattern shown below.

Carefully paint the white pattern. I went nuts and did it without masking tape and it turned out fine but it could have been a huge mess. I used three coats of white to achieve that look.

After it is all completely dry, draw a line – and this is where you can be the most creative – dividing the clapper in as many parts as you want. I drew mine at about half the height and then the smaller line, at half the length.

But it turned out really cool! Right?

I loved making this. It was actually a lot simpler to make than I thought but it took so long! To paint and let dry each and every coat took about 4-5 days… but it turned out really cool and that was what I was hoping for! And it is a fully working clapper. It was used in the event and it was a success!

How to make Chandelier for the kitchen – Step by step

How to make Chandelier for the kitchen – step by step craft tutorial

To prepare for decorating chandeliers, Required Material:

  • Sandpaper (I used not the toughest).
  • primer on old paint (this is optional, it dries 24 hours, if you wish – can be applied, I did not cause, without it, too, all splendidly). Photos just in case anyone is interested:
  • The most common sponge for surface staining chandeliers.
  • Paint (I have a matte paint, which was used for the walls in the repair of the kitchen).
  • Wallpaper paste (in my case). To use it, as we now have it in abundance. You can use PVA glue or some other suitable for gluing fabric to the metal.
  • Bowl of glue.
  • The adhesive for bonding decorative elements (the one that I chose, initially white, after drying it becomes clear).

For decoration, Required Material:

  1. White fabric (mine is cotton, you can use another).
  2. Tape metallized.
  3. Artificial leaves.
  4. Wooden ladybugs (my Velcro).
  5. Polubusiny (I 6mm diameter).
  6. Artificial flowers (in this case, the calla latex).
  7. Stamens for flowers.
